Is there a limit to the number of times I can consolidate PLUS loans?

In general, you cannot consolidate PLUS loans with the same lender or a different lender more than once. However, there are some exceptions. If you have a loan that was not included in the original consolidation, you may consolidate again to include the loan. Similarly, if you have had to take a new loan after the consolidation, you may now consolidate the total debt into one loan. For example, if your child decides to continue on with a graduate program or further schooling beyond what you initially anticipated, you may have to take a new PLUS loan. You can consolidate this into your current loan in the future.
